Yeah....

I know I am woefully behind on my blog updates, but man this has been a hectic summer! Next summer I am going to boycott all scheduled activities of every kind. Only sporadic, non-planned occurrences may be put on the agenda! Here's a bit of a run-down on the happenings around here:

- 2 vacation Bible Schools within a 3-week period

- I stayed awake for 3+ hours every night for about a week and a half, sanding and texturing the living room walls

- Sam took down the ceiling-hung shelf that was over the breakfast bar

- this past week, Sam's lovely parents came to help us move things along a bit. Sam's mom watched/kept the kiddos occupied while his dad and I painted. Then Sam's dad taped and bedded the dining room, fitted the door of the pantry flush with the walls, built a shelf, cut out a new window sill in the living room, cut down some dead branches, Sam got up in our gargantuan backyard tree and cut some more dead limbs down, made a couple of trips to Lowe's, made a trip to Sherwin Williams and I am sure that I left some things out.

- I put a faux finish on three of the living room walls which didn't turn out at all like I had planned, but it was a good experiment nonetheless and I will be repainting soon to try and lighten the walls up again. The finish is exactly what I wanted; the color was not. I'll work on getting some pics up.

- the kids are doing great and I will definitely have to do a crazy-huge update on them, but for now, this will have to do. :)
